The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, Inc.
The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce (GCC) was organized for business owners and managers in the Greenwood area to promote organized development. GCC is dedicated to assisting local government and it’s agencies in the promotion of economic, social and community well being. GCC is involved in the community. GCC will organize and promote events and activities to distinguish Greenwood as a unique, desirable area to live and conduct business. GCC is designed to allow every member an opportunity to share their concerns about the area and to assist in implementing a plan of action that will produce results and promote the area.
Our story began like many of Chambers’ — with a group of businessmen getting together with a desire to make a difference for businesses and the town. In 2002, the first meeting was held with about 10 businesses being represented. In a short period of time, the number increased to 40 businesses and individuals. The group elected a name — Greenwood Development Alliance — and was recognized as the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, INC on April 16, 2007 as a 501(c)(6) organization. We now average 60 members.
We are proud to represent the citizens of Greenwood and strive to become the catalyst through which business, industry and organizations work together for the common good of the community. The Chamber follows the town’s business development proposal while keeping in tact our small town atmosphere. An important aspect of the Chamber is to assist the town in creating a business climate that appeals to the present businesses and will bring in the kind of new businesses that fit our environment while maintaining the tax base and enhancing growth.
Membership in the Chamber is open to business owners as well as non-business individuals.
The Chamber meets the first Tuesday evening of each month from 6:00 p.m. t0 7:30 p.m. at the Gardens of the American Rose Center — 8877 Jefferson Paige Rd. Shreveport, LA, 71119. We encourage you to be our guest at a future meeting and consider becoming a member.
